The following Association Members of Mind in Enfield were elected to be Trustees of Mind in Enfield- at the Annual General Meeting on 11th Sept. 2019 until the next AGM in Sept. 2020.
Registered as a Trustee of MiE since December 2013 . Acting Vice Chair of MiE - March 2016 - Sept 2016 Vice Chair of MiE Sept 2016 to Sept 2018 Elected as the Chair of the BoTs of MiE at the MiE / AGM on 12/09/2018 Laurane has been a board Member since January 2014. Formerly a teacher she now works in Service Delivery for a large Global Management Consultancy and Outsourcing Company. Her extra-curricular activities include Accent on Enablement Lead in UKI Operations promoting support for all enablement issues throughout the workplace.Laurane's skills include, project management, process development, event management, facilitation, training delivery and people developer.She has lived in Enfield for the past 20 years and is keen to utilise business skills through trusteeship for the benefit of people in Enfield.
Michael was elected as a Trustee of Mind in Enfield in September 2016. He is an economist who worked in the trade union movement, most of the time as Head of the International Department of the Trades Union Congress. He is a volunteer for the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development and a board member of other charities seeking to meet community needs in Britain and overseas. He has lived in Enfield for more than forty years.
Tahir is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Pakistan) and Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (Pakistan) and “Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)” and PRINCE 2 certifications. He has over 23 years of experience with Big 4 and Top Tier IT companies in leadership and management, and delivery of critical business transformation programmes where IT is the key enabler. With a background in assurance and consulting, Tahir has successfully shaped, designed, built, managed and delivered complex IT and business change programmes for blue chip, Fortune 500 clients across the globe. Tahir has lived in Enfield for the last 10 years and is keen to support the local community with his experience. He has travelled widely, worked in various countries and has interests in public speaking, cricket and cultures.
Ravi joined Mind in Enfield in April 2010 as a Volunteer with the Social Support & Wellbeing Service . He has also been a Trustee of MiE since September 2011 . At the MiE - AGM on 14/09/16 he was also elected as the Company Secretary of MiE .Ravi , who is a retired family man , has resided in Enfield since 1979 and brings 40 years of experience as a Mental Heath Practitioner with a number of Local Authorities and the NHS.
Registered as a Trustee of MiE since July 2001. She has been the Chair of the BoTs of MiE for two - 3 year terms . Last term being Sept 2015 to Sept 2018 . She continues to be an active Trustee of MiEMargaret has been a Trustee of Mind in Enfield for 15 years, serving twice as Chair.Her background is in education, with skills in team building and management, pastoral care, and planning for change.
Jessica has lived in Enfield for over 15 years. She joined Mind in Enfield as a volunteer with the social support and well being service in 2014 before taking on the role of a trustee in 2017. In her 20 years in the travel and tourism sector, she has served in global organisations, specifically in management, operations and service delivery. Jessica left the travel and tourism industry to pursue a vocation in mental health, a cause close to her heart. She has completed a vocational training in psychotherapy and counselling.
Petula, who was elected to the Board of Trustees at the Mind in Enfield AGM in September 2017, brings a wide range of experience in the health and education sectors. She was trained and worked as a teacher in the Caribbean region before taking up posts in local government in Enfield and other North London boroughs. She used her research skills in employment in a health charity before she qualified as a nurse, specialising in working with people with learning disabilities. She has been an Enfield resident for more than twenty years.
Mohammed was elected to the Board of Trustees of Mind in Enfield at the MiE – AGM on 11/09/2019. He has been an Enfield resident for more than 22 years. He has extensive experience of executive and non-executive roles in public, private and charity sectors. This includes 30 years’ experience of local government in England and Wales; ten of these as CEO. He is currently a non-executive director of Hyfren Dyfrdwy ( Severn Dee), a water company serving people in Wales . He is passionate about improving mental health services and is keen to use his experience to help local people. He is currently training to be a psychotherapist.
Christianah was elected to the Board of Trustees of Mind in Enfield at the MiE – AGM on 11/09/2019 . She has been a client/ service user of MiE for the last 7 years – a member of the MiE - Hearing Voices Support group . She grew up in Nigeria and has worked in various businesses and enterprises , including teaching . She has a large family , many of whom live and live in the UK. While living in the Gambia she was a teacher at both junior and secondary schools .In England she has been a Parent Governor of School Boards. She has recently gained a first class degree in Business Studies with finance . Currently studying for her masters in Food Business Management
Edward Connolly was elected to the Board of Trustees of Mind in Enfield at the last MiE – AGM on 11/09/2019 .Ed was born Edmonton and has spend the majority of his life in the area. He brings to Mind in Enfield, the perspective of a service user. Previously a trustee and peer mentor with Enfield Mental Health Users Group. He worked for 20 years at a local media monitoring company. His involvement with Mind in Enfield begun in 2010, as a volunteer in social support, followed by a period as an employee. During the last six years he has worked in adult social care, latterly as a senior support worker, for a private sector provider, in supported housing, for adults with learning and physical disabilities and mental health issues.
